Starkwhite Queenstown | Pop Up
29.01.21 - 26.02.21

Starkwhite will present a pop up exhibition in Queenstown, New Zealand opening Friday 29 January and running through until 7th February. Open 10-5pm daily. Situated in the heart of Queenstown at 45 Beach Street, the exhibition will feature key work from gallery artists including Billy Apple, Martin Basher, Rebecca Baumann, Len Lye, Jonny Niesche, Fiona Pardington, John Reynolds, Gordon Walters and others.
Gallery Director Dominic Feuchs said, “We’ve been interested in presenting works in Queenstown for sometime, and while Covid has scuppered our international program it’s provided us the opportunity to finally realise a Queenstown exhibition. We’re very excited about the works we’re showing”.
The exhibition will include Len Lye’s seminal sculpture Fountain (1960), a selection of Gordon Walters works selected from his recent survey exhibition New Vision, Fiona Pardington’s Portrait of a life cast of Matoua Tawai and Jonny Nieche’s new sculpture Musk, Dusk, Dust (2020).
Feuchs commented further, “Despite the Covid induced push to online presentations there’s simply no substitute for seeing artworks in the flesh, especially museum quality works. To my knowledge there’s been nothing like this in Queenstown so we’re very excited”.
