VIRTUAL FAIR – Auckland Art Fair

The 2020 edition of the Auckland Art Fair has been cancelled and replaced by the Virtual Fair, presented entirely online. We had planned to present exhibitions in two facing booths with a space in between for sculpture: a solo show by Fiona Pardington with new works from her important Huia series, recent photographs from TIKI: VIRTUAL FAIR – Auckland Art Fair

Art Basel Hong Kong 2020

Art Los Angeles Contemporary 2020

Starkwhite will present the work of Rebecca Baumann, Jonny Niesche, and Gemma Smith at Art Los Angeles Contemporary from 13-16 February 2020. Uniting these three Australian artists is an abiding interest in the interrelationships between form, colour, light, movement, and time. The intimate relationship between colour and emotion is joined by movement and time as Art Los Angeles Contemporary 2020

Sydney Contemporary 2019

Starkwhite will present two exhibitions at Sydney Contemporary from 12 – 15 September 2019. In one space we will stage works by Martin Basher (US/NZ) and Rebecca Baumann (AUS), and in the adjacent space we will present a group show featuring gallery artists including Whitney Bedford (US), Laith McGregor (AUS), Ani O’Neill (CI) , Fiona Sydney Contemporary 2019

Art Basel Hong Kong, 29 – 31 March 2019, Booth 1C03

Starkwhite will present works by two artists who illustrate the way modernism and Maori art have intersected in the contemporary art of New Zealand – our senior Maori artist Paratene Matchitt (1933-) and the pioneering abstract artist Gordon Walters (1919-1995). Billy Apple®, Michael Zavros | Art Los Angeles Contemporary 2019

Starkwhite will present portraits by Billy Apple® (NZ/US) and Michael Zavros (AUS) at Art Los Angeles Contemporary, from 13-17 February 2019. With David Hockney and others, Billy Apple® was part of the new wave of British Pop art, grouped together in the Young Contemporaries exhibitions of 1960, 1961 and 1962. Gordon Walters | Auckland Art Fair 2018

In partnership with the Walters Estate, Starkwhite will present pioneer abstract artist Gordon Walters at the Auckland Art Fair from 23 – 27 May 2018 and at the gallery from 29 May to 16 June. Gordon Walters (1919-1995) is best known for his paintings employing the koru, the curving bulb form from Maori moko and Gordon Walters | Auckland Art Fair 2018
