Nearly a year to the date since Covid decimated our 2020 art fair programme we’re delighted to take part in the Auckland Art Fair from 24-28 February 2021.
Taking an expansive double booth we’ll present a solo project by Jonny Niesche featuring an installation of a new body of wall and floor based sculptures. A practice that draws equally on formal elements of twentieth-century art and the shiny allure of popular culture — he has previously drawn on colours from David Bowie’s Aladdin Sane album cover and Debbie Harry’s 1970s make-up — Niesche’s disco-era glamour fused with New York minimalism is sure to prove one of the fair’s must see presentations.
Pairing this will be key works from gallery artists including work from Michael Zavros’ brilliant A Guy Like Me project, Len Lye’s iconic 1960 sculpture Fountain, Fiona Pardington’s new Albino Kiwi photograph and Seung Yul Oh’s new Pou Sto sculpture. We’re also delighted to be hosting the NZ book launch for Alicia Frankovich’s Outside Before Beyond catalogue.
